Winter Social Groups

Winter Social Groups Schedules 2018 (click to view)

To encourage ongoing skill development, The Therapy Place will be offering social skills groups year round.

The curriculum is designed for more in-depth social interaction and will include concepts from the Social Thinking program®.

Topcs include:

  • Understanding others perspectives
  • Making good impressions
  • Thinking of others and recognizing what others think of them
  • Problem Solving
  • Managing stress/anxiety
  • Starting, maintaining and ending conversations
  • Recognizing and using non-verbal cues
  • Strategies for organization and motivation

We will be expanding the program to include two parent meetings. The first meeting will explain the program, its objectives and expectations. The second meeting will be to teach techniques, discuss progress and ongoing concerns that you may have. (Please note: parent meetings are mandatory)
