Parents

You are your child’s first teacher and most consistent therapist.
Attaining the most successful outcome always requires parents
and caregivers to be open to new ideas, grounded in their
love and advocacy for their child, and willing to continue
suggested treatment activities at home. Those who know a child
best are able to help therapists better understand the challenges
that affect a child’s skills, performance, and behavior. Regardless
of diagnosis, extent of disability, the child’s temperament,
or potential, parents and other caregivers are essential to
any successful treatment program.
